Duke Gardens

I took yesterday off to make a visit to Sarah P. Duke Gardens by the Duke campus in Durham. It's a bit too early in the year for the gardens to be in full splendor, but it's still amazing even in non-peak season. I walked away from 3 hours of shooting with over 100 good photos and a few excellent ones. As a shooter who leans more ponder-and-plot than spray-and-pray, that's pretty good for me.

One thing that is in full bloom right now are the tulips in the terraced section. I haven't seen such a tulip display since I was in Paris in spring almost 25 years ago.

I think another two or three weeks and it will be full-on spectacular. Unless I forget or get exceptionally busy, I intend to return.
