Damn, This Is Cool

I'm not a big follower of iPad music apps, but this is the first one I've seen that is more than a cool toy.  I could actually see performing and recording something serious with this thing.  You don't see it in this vid, but you can configure the instrument to only play notes from a specific key and scale.  In other words, you can eliminate wrong notes!  It maps a variety of touchscreen gestures very elegantly to sound parameters in the synth engine.  The sound quality seems great, but what really flips my switch is that rather than trying to mimic a keyboard (and necessarily falling short of the mark), Rudess' app exploits the unique capabilities of the iPad platform and creates a new instrument that's expressive, playable, and very unique-sounding.  For $10!  If only I had an iPad.
