Live Oak

I love the Live Oak trees in Texas.  Like Texas deer, they're not especially big, but they tend to have a really wonderful look.   The Live Oaks in Texas generally have a nice, windswept shape and often have gnarled, twisty branches that make them look ancient, like something out of a Tolkien novel.  I've seen many that look so idealized it's as if they were artificially sculpted -- a large-scale Bonsai.  This one isn't quite that nice, but I'd love to have it in my yard!  It sits next to the rail road tracks in Katy and is one of many that are easy to overlook unless you stop to appreciate them.
