Absalom

I had to take an unscheduled drive most of the way to New Orleans last week.  There and back, zip, zip.  About 10 hours of driving.  Tiring, but kind of satisfying since I like road trips and hadn't done one for awhile.  I'm used to long drives through New Mexico and Texas.  But going east near the Gulf is an altogether different terrain that I rather enjoy just because it's so different from what I'm used to.  Instead of miles and miles of high desert plains or mesas, you have miles and miles of elevated highway over swamp land.  Every time I drive through it, it makes me think of a setting for a Southern Gothic novel, which is the inspiration for the treatment of this photo.
